Music
The music is centred around a composed/improvised sonic universe the orchestra calls Magnified Micro Music.
Inspired by British photographer Levon Biss' super-magnified images of insects, the soundscape of the orchestra Paris Peacock is created through maximally cranked microphones placed close to the instruments. This allows the orchestra to work with a sonic field not usually heard; magnifying glass on sound. The overall expression of the music is created through textural soundscapes that are constantly changing with shifting density.
Magnified Micro Music is an unprecedented way of playing music, an innovation in the musical world. Just as Levon Biss's pictures show us unknown and inspiring patterns and colours on insects, this music uncovers the universe of silent sounds.
